6) Business Units to Push More Outsourcing Business
An image system is needed for IT industry. (And we do not mean highlighting the Windows administrator's dressing or the hair in the closes of the designer.) What we’re talking is about bringing pinstripe suits into the entire IT department.
Gartner Inc. reported that an increasing number of business ends of companies are starting the IT expenditure shots. In the opinion of Gartner analysts, 1/3 of Information Technology outsourcing business will become a kind of business instead of a technical business within two years. It means outsourcing suppliers will have to be prepared for "talk business" while they are making negotiation with clients who do not belong to IT department. It is one of the reasons for encouraging them to be busy with studying business language.
Bill Hayduk, manager of professional services at Real-Time Technology Solutions, Inc., is still on the trend. He said "mid-level managers would phone up and pursue consulting services. One thing is that the budget can not provide money for the consulting services. The other is that services have to be C-leveled."
"One white paper is made to demonstrate why you need our services. Almost everything is a calculation of return on investment. We have become a partner for our clients, supporting them to provide their case for their business units," said Hayduk.
Gartner once said that we should not see cost savings as the power that pushes outsourcing strategies. However, the firm predicts that it is about to get through 2004. That means ESP’s will have an alternative: provide services according to expenditure of skills. Most ESP’s will stop businesses on the basis of expenditure -- at least at present.
"CIO's are being asked to eliminate expenditure by all kinds of means," Hayduk said.
"American companies around the whole word will find the optimal businesses with the help of "savings lust", and it will not take long for the international model to become the norm." Pring said, "The international delivery model is obsolete and American organizations must work rapidly immediately to put this type of management into the entire operational business models."
According the Gartner analysts, the combination of business with technology is much more significant than before. The reason is that a firm can stay competitive if it can handle a good partnership between business and technology. Improvement of one outsourcing strategy that makes a balance between peril as well as value, and that is agile enough to work with alterations in delivery as well as management models will be significant as well.
Gartner expressed that concentrated IT application, deployment of international utility and delivery models, expectations of technology, virtualization, as well as expenditure savings are to together make IT become a useful machine which generates business value.
