48) Global IT Outsourcing Contract Signed between Commerzbank AG and HP

Today, Hewlett-Packard (HP) declared that Commerzbank AG, the second –largest German bank, will outsource the direction of 13,000 printers and 36,000 workstations to HP as a part of one five-year IT services deal.

During the agreement’s terms, HP will deliver a full range of information techonology services to Commerzbank, from the infrastructure services to overall desktop lifecycle direction. The services are the parts of HP End User Workplace portfolio including desktop management, print management, server management, network management and services of help desk.

HP’s standard IT processes and broad global reach will be leveraged by Commerzbank. By outsourcing to HP the IT functions, Commerzbank can put more attention on main business processes, help lower its costs and standardize IT services worldwide.

“Commerzbank AG will achieve variable costs and cost savings under the help of this contract as well as the help of driving IT improvement to support our development,” said Frank Annuscheit, who is the Group chief operating officer, Commerzbank AG.

Pablo Sanchez-Lozano, senior vice president and general manager – Europe, the Middle East and Africa, HP Services, said, “In the financial sector, HP keeps no less than 30 years experience, and it will help Commerzbank AG by this knowledge to develop as an financial efficient provider.”

About 100 employees from Commerzbank will move to HP according to the deal.
