35) Infosys Forecasts over 29% Annual Revenue Growth

Infosys Technologies Ltd.,which is the second largest outsourcing company in India, said this Wednesday that it is hoped that their revenue can rise by 28% to 30% to nearly four billion dollars this year.

Despite the rupee appreciation, higher salaries, and costs of visas to the U.S, Bangalore-based Infosys has maintained its net profits, according to its spokesman. In the quarter ended June 30, Infosys‘s revenue was up by 40.6% to $928 million from the same quarter of the last year.. Its margins for the quarter were $263 million rising by 51% from the same quarter of the last year. Infosys' outcomes are in compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Over the quarter, Infosys added thirty-five new clients and 3,730 employees, increasing the headcount of its staff June 30 to 75,971. It intends to employ twenty-six thousand more over the fiscal year.

Infosys and other Indian outsourcers are vying with transnational service providers, including IBM Corp.and Accenture Ltd which has established offshore services delivery centers in India to capitalize on the lower labor-cost In India.
