19) Shanghai's Offshore Outsourcing Industry Develops Rapidly

Software outsourcing industry is developing at a substantial rate in Shanghai. Based on the report from 2006 Shanghai Global IT Outsourcing Summit, sales of CNY 30.3 billion has been accrued in the first half of 2006.

It is believed that offshore outsourcing services will be among the most significant parts of Shanghai's modern tertiary industry development, said Zhou Yupeng, Vice Mayor of the city.

The value of the offshore outsourcing service business in Shanghai last year was approximately over USD 1 billion; of which software export accounts for USD 681 million.

Furthermore, the local software industry produced revenues of 9.6 times those of last year.

Software outsourcing enterprises increasingly heed CMM3 evaluation. According to a report, about 120,000 people are tiring themselves in the industry.

"The explosions of industry are confronted with great challenges in experiences, talents and self-innovation; which are without exception required to be solved step by step," said Zhou Bo, director of Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade Commission.

Combining the self-endeavor with government support, Shanghai's offshore outsourcing industry is developing at a rapid rate.
