Privacy

Personal Information
This privacy statement is applicable to all SDIT web-sites.

SDIT respects the confidentiality of its on-line users and will protect that privacy as vigorously as possible.

SDIT reserves the right to perform statistical analyses of user behaviors and characteristics so as to measure interest in and use of the various sections of its’ sites, so as to promote design and navigation and to gather marketing information. Only accumulated data from these analyses, not individual data, will be used for this purpose.

Users should be aware that certain non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by SDIT through the operation of what are called "cookies". "Cookies" are small text files that identify an individual computer's browser entering a website. They allow the site to track that browser's movement through the site over several sessions. Through cookies, a website can recognize repeat users, enable the user's access to and use of the site, and allow a site to track usage behavior that will allow content improvements. SDIT uses cookies only for the above-mentioned purposes and will not use them to identify users or to track non-SDIT usage.

If you do not want a cookie placed on your computer by SDIT, you may disable cookies altogether by modifying the preferences section of your Netscape or Internet Explorer browser (under Edit/Preferences/Advanced). Note that it is possible that some aspects of SDIT websites may be unavailable to you if you choose this option.

If you have no problem accepting cookies, but want to be informed of their appearance, you may turn on a warning prompt by modifying the cookie warning section in Edit/Preferences/Advanced.

E-mail
The SDIT does not vend or rent e-mail addresses to other organizations. Certain e-mail addresses may be published in both print and electronic SDIT publications including the SDIT website. The SDIT may generate e-mail for the following types of communication:

  1. Notification e-mail to which the individual may subscribe and unsubscribe.
  2. Transactional e-mail, which is the result of a business transaction initiated with the AMS.
  3. Relationship e-mail, which is sent as an informational service because of a relationship with the SDIT.
  4. Commercial e-mail, which is sent to promote an SDIT product or service (You may opt not to receive this type of e-mail).
  5. Correspondence from SDIT staff as a result of a communication initiated by a member or customer.
E-mail that has a provision for opt-out will include instructions on how to do so.


Aggregated tracking information
SDIT analyzes visitors' use of our websites by tracking information such as page views, traffic flow, search terms, and click through. We use the information to improve our websites. We also share this anonymous traffic as well as demographic information in aggregate form with advertisers and other business partners. We do not share any information with advertisers that can identify an individual user.


Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.


Services
This site contains links to other websites. SDIT will not take the responsibility fro the privacy practices or the content of other Web Sites.


Contests & Surveys
We may run contests or surveys on our site in which we ask our users for contact information (such as their email addresses). We use the customer contact information from the entry form to send the user information about our company and products, or to contact them when necessary (notices like, updates, patches, etc.). Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings.
