SDIT Got through Web Difficulties Caused by Earthquake

On 2006 Dec 26th, 7.2 and 6.7 magnitude earthquakes occurred in Taiwan. At least 6 fiber-optic submarine cable systems out of Taiwan (that connect between East Asia region and Southeast Asia region) had been cut and knocked out by the quakes. For quite a long period, internet users across the Asia Pacific, in countries such as: Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and China, were neither able to connect to many US and European based websites, nor log into instant messengers such as MSN and Yahoo!Messenger. Many companies' businesses were interrupted by the broken cables including the company SDIT.

SDIT has carried out a project with a client in the US for quite a long time. Affected by the broken cables, the communication pathway has been cut off which caused a great effect on the whole progress of the project. Shanghai-digital has made a quick response to this issue. To guarantee the SDIT team can catch up with the working time with the US team and communicate with the responsible person in time, this US project team of SDIT worked from 4:00 am until 12pm. They did this because during this time, less users accessed to the US based website and it was easier for us to get in touch with our US client through the internet.

By active cooperation and unremitting efforts, SDIT had gotten through the difficulties caused by the broken cables and the project has undergone less an effect than expected. The US client gave SDIT high praise about the efforts they made.
