Talents Bring Profits

"Rationally using talents is much more important for the development of an enterprise than hiring a good amount of high-level technicians." During the recent Nanjing Software Expo, Zhou Hongwei, Chairman of Runhe Corporation, said with a tingle of emotion in the interview, "Just because of largely hiring software blue-collars, its practicality and stability become the company’s biggest profiting points. This guarantees the doubled growth rate per year for the enterprise."

In fact the competition among software companies are the human resource competition. Experts point out that software companies generally need three types of talents, senior software staff, software engineers and software blue-collars who know technology and management. But the obstacles of human resource to our software companies are not only the shortage of talents, but the shortage of appropriate talents for the enterprises. On one hand, our software companies are in short of software blue-collars as well as the inter-disciplinary talents in software development and management; on the other hand, these software outsourcing companies are lack of project managers with excellent communication skill and coordination ability. All of these factors hinder directly the software companies’ capability of undertaking projects.

College graduates need to be trained into the senior software talents back to school; and so do those graduates from vocational colleges need to become the software blue-collars. However, the latter group could be the cornerstone for Chinese software outsourcing enterprises to develop.

Increasing the scale of software outsourcing companies and training talents become the key factors. Software Enterprise Development Regulations clearly states that it is necessary to encourage and support the establishment of the model software colleges and vocational-technical schools and the provincial department in charge of education should set up software talents training schedules, expand the scale of software talents training, optimize the training mode, and improve software education, teaching level to meet the demand of all kinds of software developers in the society. Chi Yu, the chief director of the Software Office in Jiangsu Department of Information Industry, introduced, "In order to train qualified software talents, the Ministry of Information Industry and Jiangsu province have jointly built the national software talents training base. The purpose of setting the universities as the bases and uniting with some corporations to develop order form training is to foster a large amount of practical software talents which can meet the demand of those enterprises."

Academies and enterprises cooperate to train talents is on the current talents training basis, through corporations’ fully involvement to seek for a method to closely integrate training and the students’ career development, in order to create the international software technical elites. Undoubtedly, this new approach will become the spotlight in the area of software talents training.
