Wuxi is awarded as "China Services Outsourcing Demonstration Zone"

In the new bulletin held by Wuxi municipal government about Wuxi province's successfully declaration of "China Services Outsourcing Demonstration Zone", the National Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry and Ministry of Education have identified Wuxi Taihu protected zone as "China Services Outsourcing Demonstration Zone" recently. This is the first time to identify the first national services outsourcing demonstration zone by four ministries.

It is known that as the cradle of Chinese national industry and commerce, and also villages and towns' enterprises, Wuxi is one of the earliest cities to be industrialized in China. After more than 20 years of rapid development, recently, Wuxi has entered the later stage of industrialization with high-density population growth, resource scarcity and increasing environmental pressure. In the end of May this year, the outbreak of cvanobacteria in Taihu was the concentrated embodiment of these contradictions to a certain extent.

Wu Fengfeng, General Director of Wuxi Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Commission, stated that since the outbreak of the water crisis in Taihu, the urgent and grim situation of father water pollution in Taihu and the new changes of international industry transformation made Wuxi decide to break through the shackles of simply GDP and industrial economy, and get rid of relying on the traditional way of giving priority to processing and manufacturing industry, then accelerate industrial transformation and structure upgrading, and energetically develop the high-end services mainly on services outsourcing.

It is learned that in order to promote the "Qian Bai Shi Project" which has been executed since last year, the Ministry of Commerce regards that services outsourcing industry of Wuxi has been developing fast recently, for it has gathered a set of well-known international large services outsourcing companies and key enterprises, such as NEC of Japan, Hollywood Digital of the U.S. and so on. This has formed a considerable scale in software industry, industrial design, cartoon and movie design, and other aspects, the convergence effect has been "fruitful".

The insiders analyzed that the establishment of "Wuxi Taihu Protected Zone – China Services Outsourcing Demonstration Zone" was the urgent demand of municipal economic transformation, industrial restructuring and the protection of ecological environment in Taihu. It was a "super present" from China to the economic and social transformation of Wuxi, and also indicates that the state had attached great importance to ecological and environmental protection of Taihu drainage area, which would surely promote the growth of economic development in Wuxi.
