The demand of high-class talents in China's software outsourcing is huge
Along with the development of China's software market, its potential and opportunities have been much more than the "software kingdom"---India. Although more and more overseas funds are invested in, the development of software in China is encountering a "bottleneck" because of the problems, such as the shortage of qualified personnel. At 2007 Shanghai Global IT Outsourcing Summit held recently, the experts in the summit all appealed that the most important thing was to nurture the high-class professionals of software outsourcing in China.
The internationalized market has many demands for talented people.
It is said that there are 150,000 employees in Shanghai software industry now, this year, the operating revenue of software industry is expected to exceed 80 billion Yuan. Meanwhile, there are more than 200 software exporting enterprises having registered, the export has reached 990 million dollars with the increase about 49.7%. But its increase momentum is pale compared with the momentum that a large number of domestic and foreign software giants gathered in Shanghai.
SAP, Microsoft, and other major world renowned enterprises have already entered China, and by adding the existing large number of small and medium-sized software development companies in China, this constitutes the large-scale employers group of software industry in Shanghai and even in China. According to the industrial data forecasted by the Ministry of National Information Industry, by 2010, the sales revenue of China's software industry will reach 1.3 trillion Yuan, and in the next few years, the annual growth rate will not be lower than 30%. In this situation, the demand of talents will continuously increase.
"In the next three to five years, the shortage of software talents in Shanghai will be serious." Facing the thriving software industry in Shanghai, Ju Dehua, professor of East China Technology University and researcher in Software Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated there also had "the bother of happiness". It is said that the reason why software and service outsourcing industry has formed such predicament is the fall of various resources among areas. The most important reason why Shanghai is able to be the outsourcing center of many multinational companies is the significant cost reduction, currently, the quick gather of many enterprises in Shanghai causes the relative tension of human resource supply, shortage of software talents amount, the contradiction that the demand is far greater than the supply is outstanding, in fact, this has increased their operating costs in a disguised form.
The greatest shortage currently is senior professionals.
At 2007 Shanghai Global IT Outsourcing Summit, Ju Dehua commented that the economic competition in the future was the competition of human resources in the final analysis, in order to fundamentally improve the core competitiveness of China's IT outsourcing services, we should achieve the vocational education of software outsourcing talents. He believed that we were lack of high-class talents of software outsourcing in China, so nurturing high-class professionals was the key point.
According to this, software entrepreneurs are impressed. Shanghai software outsourcing is moving out from the mode of simple ITO (Information Technology Outsourcing), BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) gradually becomes the mainstream, some high value-added outsourcing businesses, such as risk management, financial analysis and so on, have entered China, which requires a lot of system analysts, structure designers, senior engineers, project managers and composite personnel of software management, but recently, the structure and amounts of talents in Shanghai still cannot meet the demand for high-level personnel.
In Ningbo, there are a large number of non-government capitals gathering to software outsourcing market, but the investment of the capital is unfavorable because of the shortage of high-end talents. Such people need to feel at home in one or two foreign languages, with the capability of team management, and to be familiar with one or two professional fields such as banking, securities, besides these, the person needs to have a high degree of professionalism. It takes at least five to eight years' practice to train such a person, but software outsourcing enterprises cannot extricate themselves from the old problem of losing talents for a long time, at a certain extent, this makes the enterprises would not like to cultivate high-end talents by themselves.
"This is because of the lack of continuing education." Ju Dehua considered that compared with India, the most lacking aspect of software talents cultivation in China was the continuing education system, after graduation from school, the software talents might only learn new technologies by the "hearsay" from the issuing conferences of some companies, but could not study thoroughly and systematically. At present, there is a structural imbalance in Shanghai: on the one hand, a large number of computer professionals are trained every year, on the other hand, many college graduates disdain to enter the software outsourcing enterprises to do the work of software applications. Although most software businesses, especially the software businesses related to securities, banking system, over 90% is the work of application, the research and development accounts for only a small part, but the graduates who feel above work are eager to directly engage in research and development by being impacted of the public misunderstanding that software outsourcing is a kind of blue-collar work. He said, "China's software development must recognize the problem of professional development earlier, it might be an opportunity for us to catch up with the developed countries."
Recruiting keystone: software test engineer
What kind of people are you lack of? To ask any HR of IT enterprises, the person must deeply sigh and answer, "Software testers." In these years, software testers have become the most favored talents of IT enterprises, they turn into the major training target of the state recently with 3G talents, cartoon talents and so on. Although in recent years, the number of computer graduates has increased and many training institutions have strengthened the training, some talents in IT industry are surplus seriously. But the software test engineers, programmer designers and system analysts in the main occupations are welcomed; they keep the top three of "the latest demand".
njie, a well-known expert of software testing and professor of Qinghua University, stated, "Software test engineer is a more and more popular career." Software testing is the gatekeeper of quality, which includes the work of technology and management; it is relatively stable and has no restriction on age.
