Dalian is expected to become the global largest software industry region in the following years

On the kick-off ceremony of Dalian Sky & Earth Software Park on 16th, the mayor of Dalian --- Xia Deren said Dalian would become the global largest software industry region.

Xia Deren said that Dalian had built 150 million square meters of the software park, Qi Xianling industry base, Tengfei software park, etc. The overall program area will reach 6.9 million square meters by adding Dalian Sky & Earth Software Park, Dalian Top Software Park and Dalian Communications University Software Park. Several years later, Dalian will become the biggest software industry region of the world.

Xia Deren said Dalian outsourcing services had become a well-known international brand; it had the conditions to be a new leading city in global software industry.

As it is known, in these years, the growth of Dalian software and outsourcing services is rapid. In 2006, the software revenue of Dalian reached 14.5 billion Yuan, with an increase of 45%; the software exports amounted to 450 million US dollars, with an increase of 50%. Currently, there are 220 software and outsourcing services companies in Dalian. Dalian is leading the software outsourcing and information services business in China; it has won "China Outsourcing Service Base City" which is the first one in China.

Dalian Sky & Earth Software Park is launched officially with the investment of 15 billion yuan

Dalian Sky & Earth Software Park was officially started up on 16th, with the investment of 15 billion Yuan, it marks Dalian is moving a big step to achieve the goal to be a global software and outsourcing services leader.

Dalian Sky & Earth Software Park is jointly developed by Rui’an Real Estate, Rui’an Construction owned by Hong Kong Rui’an Group and Dalian Yida Group. It is located in the second phase of Dalian Software Park; the total investment is expected to 15 billion Yuan, with the overall building area of over 400 million square meters. This project is combined with enterprises, information technology and software development centers, business apartments, residence, education, leisure, etc.

Luo Kangrui, the chairman of Rui’an Group said Rui’an Group would endeavor to make good use of its strengths and expertise, bring in the international program design, the latest building techniques and excellent management experience, etc, to build a world-class Software Park comprehensive development project for Dalian, matching with the rapidly growth of software industry in Dalian, it also would provide international standard integrated industries and facilities to the enterprises all over the world.

Xia Deren said Dalian outsourcing services had become a well-known international brand; it would be a new leading city in global software industry. He also stated that Dalian would identify the priority development strategy, further increase the efforts to support the policy, and fill the talent gap as soon as possible, in order to create a good environment for the development of software industry.
